Welcome to a place where nature and history meet: the Moulin de Record, an old seigniorial mill nestled at the bottom of a preserved valley of the Sidobre, between Castres and Lacaune. Following the small road from Guyor (D66) to Ferrières, you will discover this stone mill, set on the banks of the Agoût, a river of the first category of fish farming. Here, the rhythm is that of the water, the birds and the seasons. Gabriele and Jean-Pierre welcome you to their comfortable cottages, where exposed beams and stone walls recall the past, while the terrace offers a soothing panorama of the river and the idyllic nature. A cottage with character, designed for your comfort The Refuge du Pêcheur is a charming rustic cottage, facing south-south-east, located on the first floor of the main building of the mill, with an independent entrance on the west side. It occupies the two former children's rooms of the last miller, now carefully renovated. The cottage consists of: * A main room of 22 m² with sitting area, comfortable sofa bed for 2 people, fully equipped open kitchen and dining area. * A large bedroom of 20 m², accessible by two steps, with a bed in 160 x 200 cm and a single bed in 90 x 200 cm. * A bathroom with sink, shower cubicle and toilet, accessible directly from the bedroom. Thanks to its raised bed and easy access to the bathroom, this cottage is particularly suitable for the elderly or those looking for practical and functional single-storey accommodation. A terrace facing the river From the independent terrace overlooking the Agoût, you will enjoy an ideal setting for your outdoor meals, your aperitifs at sunset or your moments of reading to the sound of the water. Deckchairs and barbecue are at your disposal. Baby cot available on request. An exceptional summer microclimate The Moulin de Record benefits from a natural microclimate: in summer, the river and the vegetation bring a beneficial coolness. You will enjoy 6 to 8 °C less than in Brassac or Castres, with nights remaining cool even during heat waves. A major asset for a quiet holiday, without stifling heat! Activities and discoveries on site * Trout fishing directly at the edge of the cottage (from March to September). * Natural swimming in the river basins. * Crayfish hunt with the family, a fun and unforgettable activity for young and old. * Hikes and mountain biking from the mill (Voie Verte/GRP), in the granite massif of Sidobre. * Guided tour of the mill offered: Jean-Pierre will make you relive the tumultuous history of this place, from the Crusades to the Wars of Religion, in a fascinating story between memory and nature. Who is this cottage for? The Refuge du Pêcheur is suitable for couples, small families or friends travelling together, as well as seniors thanks to its practical layout. It is also ideal for fishermen, nature lovers and those looking for an authentic stay, away from the noise and hustle and bustle. IMPORTANT: * In July and August, rentals are exclusively for the week from Saturday to Saturday, i.e. a minimum of 7 nights. * This accommodation is NON-SMOKING and pets are allowed on request * End-of-stay cleaning is not included. The cleaning package is optional, if you don't want to take care of it yourself * On arrival, the security deposit of 300€ by credit card imprint is required to collect the keys and have access to the accommodation. A direct link to make the deposit via our channel manager is sent to you the day before arrival, giving you time to do so.
